This month, we're excited to highlight our interns from the US and Tanzania. Their internship, which took place from June to September, was filled with meaningful contributions and unique experiences at the Sasamani Foundation. Each intern brought a fresh perspective, dedicating their time and skills to furthering Sasamani's mission. Join us as we explore the interns' amazing experiences. Discovering Sasamani and Embracing the Mission For many of our interns, joining Sasamani was an opportunity to connect deeply with the foundation's mission of empowering students and communities. Whether they are working on educational initiatives, engaging with local partners, or supporting Sasamani's strategic growth, each intern has experienced first-hand the foundation's impact and the dedication behind it. "I was first introduced to the Sasamani Foundation in 2016, back when I was in secondary school. After graduating with a diploma in Local Government Administration, I began pursuing a bachelor's degree in Management of Social Development. With Sasamani being such an essential part of my educational journey, I applied for an internship in early May. My time here has allowed me to apply what I've learned in college and gain practical experience that's truly invaluable. I'm grateful for this opportunity and proud to be part of the Sasamani family." Empowerment through Service and Learning "The internship with Sasamani was truly life-changing. It wasn't just about gaining professional experience, it was about making a genuine impact and learning how collaboration and service can drive empowerment. Visiting and teaching in local schools provided insight into the students' challenges and offered the opportunity to inspire them to dream big and overcome obstacles. Exploring different cultural areas in Tanzania broadened our perspective and deepened our appreciation for the communities' resilience and traditions. The most inspiring part was connecting with the local community and a passionate team dedicated to sustainable change. Engaging with interns from different cultures was enlightening, as we shared ideas and built lasting friendships. This experience taught us that true empowerment isn't just about what we give, but what we gain through connection and shared growth."
