Objective of the Program:
The objective of the programme is to empower and build leadership capabilities of women so they may better address complex social, environmental, and financial challenges. The cohort will intentionally include women from multiple disciplines throughout East Africa to build an innovative network of change agents.
Renown Facilitators and Guest Speakers:
Local and international facilitators from University of Dar es Salaam Business School and the Amani Institute of Kenya will provide instruction to expand skills in: self-awareness, leading self, and leading others.
Program Details:
Women Leading Change is a four month program with five days of in-person instruction followed by virtual (phone or video) one-hour coaching sessions. Classroom instruction will be conducted from 21st to 25th of August 2023 at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School. Class will be held each day from 08:30u to 16:30u. Four one-on-one sessions with a leadership coach will be scheduled directly with your assigned coach and will take place from September through December 2023. Participants will earn a graduation certificate once they complete all four coaching sessions. We kindly request apply only when you are able to be in-person for all five days of instruction and are able to commit to follow on coaching sessions throughout the fall. Certificate of Participation is granted by the University of Dar es Salaam Business School for full attendance in-person and full completion of the coaching.
Target Audience:
East African women leaders from business, government, and non-profit sectors, who are looking to advance their leadership skills.
Eligibility:
- 25 years or older in age.
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, Masters, PhD or other recognised professional qualification.
- Fluency in English.
- Work experience that shows increasing responsibility and achievements.
- Submitted:
- Responses to the essay questions.
- Curriculum Vitae or resume.
- Optional, but highly recommended: One letter of recommendation attesting to your leadership potential, written by a current or former colleague who can speak to your professional competence.
- Optional: Scholarship application.
