WHEN WOMEN LEAD, THEY CHANGE THE WORLD
Watch the 4-minute video on the 2018 Women Leading Change Program
Empower.
After the success of the programs in 2018 and 2019, The Sasamani Foundation and the University of Dar es Salaam partnered again to organize a virtual Women Leading Change program in 2021.
Emerging women leaders from East Africa are invited to join this comprehensive and locally relevant four-month program to unlock their individual leadership skills. Given the overwhelming evidence that funding women's initiatives in the developing world leads to longterm substantial gains in income and wellbeing,
The Sasamani Foundation and the University of Dar es Salaam strive together to empower women's leadership in East Africa. Because when women are empowered to lead, they can achieve transformative, positive change not only within family structures, but also within organizations and communities. The Women Leading Change program paves the way by supporting women to find their unique voices and solve the complex and systemic issues in East Africa.

We should think of establishing institutions that grow long beyond our time in this world. If men can do it, why not us? We can do better. We endure more hardship. We are more flexible. We should use those talents. In our community we are told to be second, in reality I think we are upfront in many areas. We need to be taught to aim much higher.

Women Leading Change brings influencers and experienced educators from academic institutions as the London Business School (UK), the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (US), the University of Pennsylvania (US), the University of Agder (Norway), and the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (Tanzania).
The curriculum is developed in collaboration between East African and Western leaders, developing culturally valid and appropriate methods to achieve success. Women come together for one week in the classroom followed by four months of assignments applying course work to their real lives. |
How you can support
The Sasamani Foundation and the University of Dar es Salaam are asking for your help in Women Leading Change 2020. We seek financial support to lead emerging women leaders in East Africa through our carefully designed curriculum. To graduate from this virtual program costs $1,750 per student. We ask that each participant pays $250, and we seek sponsorships for the remaining $1,500 per student.
Our goal is to raise funds for 32 East African potential women leaders to participate in this transformational program in August 2020. With your support we will be able to make Women Leading Change 2021 a great success and maximize the potential of the participants so they may thrive and lead positive change, drive economic growth and create a prosperous future for their families, their community and their world.
