WE MADE YOUR BAGS!
Your bag was beautifully handcrafted by the tailors Sasamani employs in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. The Sasamani Foundation believes that the economic independence women can achieve through reliable and fair market employment transforms communities. Women’s economic independence is also central to realizing women's rights and gender equality. The Sasamani Foundation employs a group of tailors to sew school uniforms and a collection of bags to earn a respectable, dignified living. Read more about the employment initiative here.
With money earned from sewing, Sasamani tailors have invested back into their businesses, paid for their family’s education expenses, and purchased land. The women also gain confidence in themselves and their abilities as they begin to contribute to family expenses.

The Sasamani Foundation has helped me a lot in my life since I joined. I have improved my sewing skills, and have gained experience in making bags. The income I earned through Sasamani has given me confidence in satisfying my needs, for example I managed to renovate my working place.
