Transformative Journey: My Experience with Women Leading Change

Welcome to the March Edition of Sasamani Impact Stories. In this edition, we feature Beatrice, a Class of '23 Women Leading Change graduate, sharing her transformative journey and the program's profound impact on her life.

When I first stumbled upon the Women Leading Change program, something inside me whispered, "This is it." With an open mind, I embarked on the journey, little knowing how profoundly it would shape me. Rooted in self-discovery, the program promised a path to better impact. And indeed, it delivered far beyond my expectations.

Reflecting on my experience, I find myself drawn to moments that stood out, challenges I faced, and the highlights of my personal journey. One unforgettable aspect was retracing my steps back to childhood, rediscovering and embracing that inner child with newfound love and appreciation.

Initially, opening up vulnerably posed a challenge, but with the guidance of exceptional coaches, I found myself shedding inhibitions and embracing my true self effortlessly by the program's end. The pinnacle of my journey was gaining clarity on the woman I aspire to be a vision crystalized through exercises like identifying my role model.

The impact of Women Leading Change extends far beyond the program itself. It has revolutionized my decision-making process, fostering a more rational approach by viewing situations from both the dance floor and the balcony.

Discovering the program was serendipitous, spurred by my husband's mention of it and further encouraged by the glowing recommendation of a program alumna, Lydia. Initially seeking to learn how to lead others, I realized the fundamental necessity of leading oneself first; a lesson I'm grateful the program imparted.

The aspect that resonated most profoundly was self-leadership, a cornerstone of the program that transformed my outlook. Special gratitude is reserved for my coach, whose wisdom and insight continue to inspire me long after the program's conclusion.

Looking ahead, my aspirations are brimming with hope and confidence. Armed with newfound tools, no challenge seems insurmountable. In fact, upon completing the program, an exciting career opportunity presented itself, a testament to the confidence instilled in me.
